Rock Legend Gene Simmons Hospitalized After Fainting in Car Crash

On October 7, 2025, legendary KISS musician Gene Simmons, 75, was involved in a car accident in Los Angeles. According to reports, Simmons crashed his vehicle into a parked car just before 1 p.m. on Pacific Coast Highway.

After a witness called 911, authorities confirmed the crash but did not release the driver's identity. Simmons later spoke to first responders, claiming he had passed out or fainted before the collision. Simmons' wife, Shannon Tweed, revealed that the rocker was hospitalized following the incident but has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

Tweed explained that Simmons has a heart condition called atrial fibrillation (AFib), an irregular and often rapid heart rhythm that can increase the risk of stroke and other complications. Simmons has previously discussed his AFib, stating that he manages it by getting plenty of rest and staying hydrated. However, Tweed noted that Simmons' doctors had recently changed his medications, which may have contributed to the fainting spell.

Despite the scare, Simmons remains determined to continue performing. He told reporters in March 2025 that he had planned to take a break after his band's 50-year run, but found it too difficult to stay off the stage. Simmons' current tour features a mix of KISS classics, his solo work, and covers of other iconic rock bands.
