The Guild of Music Supervisors will present its Legacy Award posthumously to Robin Kaye, a distinguished music supervisor, on February 28 at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. Kaye, who made significant contributions to "American Idol" and other major projects, tragically lost her life in July 2025. She and her husband, Thomas DeLuca, were victims of a fatal home invasion.
Authorities arrested Raymond Boodarian in connection with the crime. However, Boodarian was subsequently deemed mentally incompetent to stand trial for the murder charges and ordered to a state hospital. The Legacy Award celebrates music supervisors whose careers have left a lasting impact on the industry, with Kaye being the latest recipient to be recognized for her pioneering spirit and dedication.
In addition to honoring Kaye, the Guild will present its Icon Award to Raphael Saadiq, acknowledging his profound influence on music and visual media. Saadiq, an Academy Award-nominated artist, has had a multi-decade career shaping the connection between music and storytelling across various genres.
