A unique piece of memorabilia from the estate of Tim Pollard, Nottingham's dedicated Robin Hood, is now up for auction. Pollard, who embodied the legendary outlaw from 1996 until his death in 2025, had a vast collection exceeding 1,500 items, including a fully operational, life-sized Dalek. This motorized Doctor Who villain, complete with joystick controls and signed by cast members, is among the most anticipated items.
The collection is being sold by Pollard's father-in-law, Stephen Plummer, with all proceeds designated for the care of his surviving daughter, who is currently 12 years old. Plummer noted that Pollard's passion for collecting stemmed from his early career in Nottingham with companies like Games Workshop and his academic pursuits in African art.
Charles Hanson, an auctioneer, highlighted the Dalek's exceptional provenance and personality, stating that such a functional piece of television history is a rare find. The auction aims to honor Pollard's diverse interests and provide essential financial security for his daughter's future.
