Robert Rodriguez is set to direct his first animated feature film, an original Christmas movie for Paramount Animation. Titled "The Naughty List," the film is based on a concept Rodriguez has been developing for over ten years, originating from drawings and stories shared with his children.
The director confirmed the news via social media, expressing excitement about returning to his early passion for drawing and animation. He described the project as a "funny, irreverent, surprising Christmas tale for the whole family."
This venture marks a significant development for Paramount Animation, being the first major greenlight under its new leader, Jennifer Dodge. Dodge, who joined Paramount in January, oversees the animation group's operations from development to release. Rodriguez's previous success with the youth demographic, notably with the "Spy Kids" franchise, suggests a promising direction for the studio.
