However, Lowe's wife Sheryl Berkoff was not thrilled about the idea, fearing he would be embarrassed in front of a national audience. Lowe eventually convinced his wife by revealing the hefty payday that Comedy Central had offered him.
"Turns out, it's about a million dollars for about five hours work," Lowe said, joking that the price of his humiliation was around $1 million. The actor admitted that he "never had more fun" on a project than he did on the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe, which featured celebrities like Peyton Manning, Pete Davidson, and Ralph Macchio.
