In the latest edition of The Brit List, a prestigious ranking of the best unproduced UK film and TV projects, brothers Dylan and Blake Ritson have made the list with their sci-fi screenplay 'P.O.V.' The brothers, who have previously written and directed several acclaimed short films, describe 'P.O.V.' as an "elevated Sci Fi" feature set in a dystopian world where state-issued glasses control everyone's outlook on life.
The story follows Lyle, who catches a glimpse of a reality he can't unsee when he is handed a faulty prescription. The Ritsons say the film tonally resembles "a bit of Black Mirror, Truman Show, and Charlie Kaufman," and they are excited about the project's potential to unlock a new way of looking at the world.
While the brothers have yet to attach a director or producer to 'P.O.V.,' they have a clear vision for the collaborators they wish to enlist to bring their story to the big screen. They believe the project would be a "gift for a director of visual flair" and are open to all possible interpretations, including exploring animation companies as a potential avenue.
