Actor Riteish Deshmukh is deeply involved in the production of 'Raja Shivaji,' a cinematic tribute to the revered warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Deshmukh, who is also directing the film, recently indicated that production is halfway complete but still has a long way to go before its envisioned release.

The historical action drama is scheduled for a global multilingual launch on May 1, 2026. To ensure authenticity, monumental sets replicating 16th-century Maharashtra and historic forts were constructed after extensive research and scanning. The film was shot across scenic and historic locations including Wai, Mahabaleshwar, and Satara.
