Riteish Deshmukh: Cinema isn't one-size-fits-all

Riteish Deshmukh, speaking about his forthcoming historical film Raja Shivaji, has shared insights into the shifting landscape of Hindi cinema. He noted that successes like the Dhurandhar films demonstrate new storytelling techniques and are always welcome.

However, Deshmukh cautioned against limiting perceptions, stating that audience preferences are varied. He believes that assuming only one particular type of cinema will succeed is a narrow viewpoint. Films that have performed well, such as Dhurandhar and Chhaava, often represent unique offerings.

He emphasized that good stories, in general, attract audiences, irrespective of their format. Deshmukh's directorial venture, Raja Shivaji, is slated for release on May 1, 2026. The film covers the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and features a prominent cast including Genelia Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, and Salman Khan.
