British artist Rita Ora recently shared details about her upcoming projects at the Red Sea International Film Festival. She is producing a stage musical comedy titled "Fyre Fest The Musical," inspired by the notorious Fyre Festival and its creator, Billy McFarland. Collaborating with her husband, director Taika Waititi, Ora described the project as an exploration of the psychology behind people's desire to be part of something, even when flawed.
The "Fyre Fest The Musical" will feature a score by Paul Epworth and direction by Bryan Buckley, with set design by David Korins. Ora hinted that the musical might debut in London's West End, reflecting her English roots, though a Broadway opening remains a possibility. This venture into musical production stems from her personal experience considering participation in the original Fyre Festival.
In addition to the musical, Ora discussed reprising her role as The Queen Of Hearts in the upcoming Disney film, "The Descendants: Wicked Wonderland." She expressed admiration for previous portrayals of the character and is eager to bring her unique perspective to the iconic role, particularly valuing the opportunity to work alongside Brandy, whom she considers a musical idol.
