Summary
- Milly Alcock booked the role of Supergirl, admitting initial doubts
- Variety's 10 Actors to Watch honored, including several film debuts
- Newcomers share scenes with major stars like Jennifer Lopez, Cillian Murphy

In the past month, rising star Milly Alcock found out she had booked the highly sought-after role of Supergirl in one of this year's biggest hits. Alcock admitted she had a moment of doubt, saying "My first thought was: What have I done?" However, she went on to enjoy her cameo in "Superman" and is set to star in her own "Supergirl" film next year.
Alcock was one of this year's class of Variety's 10 Actors to Watch, an annual honor that has previously recognized over 30 Oscar nominees and winners. The 10 honorees were present at the Newport Beach Film Festival's Honors Brunch, where awards were also given to established actors like Brendan Fraser, Mark Hamill, and Diane Lane.
Among the 10 Actors to Watch were several making their film debuts, including Miles Caton, Chase Infiniti, and Guillaume Marbeck. Infiniti, who stars in Paul Thomas Anderson's "One Battle After Another," revealed she treated the experience like a "Master Class," observing and learning from co-stars like Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Benicio del Toro. Tonatiuh, who plays dual roles in "Kiss of the Spider Woman," expressed his pride in being part of an all-Latin cast, saying the film is "saying: We love you, we see you and we're going to give you the Hollywood treatment."
