Rishab Shetty's Kantara Craze Sweeps Across India

In the morning of October 10, 2025, Kannada actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty was spotted visiting the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai. Rishab has been riding high on the success of his latest release, Kantara Chapter 1, which has been scripting a string of box office records.

Kantara Chapter 1 has emerged as the highest-grossing Kannada film of the year, surpassing the collections of Su From So, which had previously held the record with Rs 125 crore. The film has also outperformed the lifetime collections of other major releases like Ram Charan's Telugu hit Game Changer and Salman Khan's Sikandar, which were released earlier in the year. In fact, Kantara Chapter 1 has become the third-highest grossing opening of the year, only behind Rajinikanth's Coolie and Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG.

At the domestic box office, Kantara Chapter 1 has minted an impressive Rs 334.94 crore so far. The Hindi version of the film has also performed exceptionally well, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark in just six days. Rishab Shetty, who directed, wrote, and starred in the film, has been widely praised for his performance and has even won the Best Actor National Award for his work in Kantara. The film has also been awarded the National Award for Best Popular Film.
