Sitar Maestro Sharma Joins Zimmer & Rahman for Epic Ramayan

Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, a renowned sitar virtuoso, is set to make his debut as a Bollywood music composer with Nitesh Tiwari's highly anticipated film, Ramayan. He is joining an esteemed group of artists, including Academy Award-winner Hans Zimmer and Indian music icon A.R. Rahman, to craft the film's musical score. Sharma's role is expected to include composing the title track for the trailer and developing distinctive musical themes for prominent characters such as Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman, and Ravana.

The filmmakers sought Sharma for his unique musical approach and his ability to create deeply immersive soundscapes. His work is anticipated to blend classical Indian music traditions with modern sound design, utilizing his custom-designed electronic sitar, SITARA, to give each character a unique musical identity. This project represents a significant milestone for Sharma, who is recognized for his innovative use of sound and his international "Sitar for Mental Health" tour.

Ramayan, set for a Diwali 2026 release, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with Yash portraying Ravana. The film's first part is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, followed by a second installment expected in Diwali 2027. Sharma's inclusion marks a major collaboration, bringing together diverse musical talents for one of Indian cinema's most ambitious projects.
