Sen Father-Son Book Fair Bonding

Actor Riddhi Sen recently visited the 49th International Kolkata Book Fair with his father, Koushik Sen. This marked their first visit together in two years, with Riddhi describing his father as his guide for the event. Both father and son are passionate readers, and their outing was a walk down memory lane.

Riddhi expressed gratitude to his parents for fostering his reading habits. Koushik noted the book fair's ability to reinvent itself, blending veteran and new authors. Riddhi's fair experience began with the inauguration of Anirban Bhattacharya's first book, followed by a seminar.

They enjoyed strolling through stalls, discussing books and creating new memories. Riddhi found the experience especially special as he observed his father's joy. Koushik purchased two books by Amitav Ghosh for Riddhi, who felt like a child again.

Riddhi credits his parents for his cultural influences: his mother introduced him to cinema, and his father to books. He fondly recalled watching his father sign books, drawing multi-generational crowds, even on a weekday.

Koushik reminisced about visiting the fair with his wife, Reshmi Sen, describing it as their perfect date. He shared how she prioritized buying books even during financial difficulties. Both Riddhi and Koushik emphasized the joy and irreplaceable nature of physical books and the unique cultural significance of Kolkata's book fair.
