He revealed in a recent interview that their initial interactions were merely cordial, stemming from a meeting through a mutual friend. Paul, who founded Klutch Sports Group, noted that while they knew each other for some time, their relationship wasn't immediate.

The couple's connection blossomed organically, moving beyond mere friendship to become a public item. This shift became evident in the summer of 2001 when Adele made a rare public appearance at a Phoenix Suns game, seated near Paul. This appearance followed her split from ex-husband Simon Konecki in 2019.

Paul, who represents high-profile athletes like LeBron James, confessed that Adele's music was not something he actively followed before their relationship. He stated that while he recognized her 'monster hits,' he wasn't a devoted fan initially. Their bond grew through shared social circles and mutual enjoyment of each other's company.
