Summary
- Nine diverse projects across West Midlands made Riba shortlist.
- Shortlist includes redeveloped stations and historic farmsteads.
- Winning projects to be announced at a regional ceremony in May.

Nine exceptional architectural projects in the West Midlands have been recognized on the Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba) awards shortlist. These selections celebrate the breadth and ambition of architectural practice within the region, demonstrating a considered and intelligent approach to challenging sites and existing buildings.
The shortlisted schemes span a variety of building types and scales. Among them are a redeveloped railway station for the University of Birmingham and a retrofitted 17th-century farmstead in Warwickshire. Other notable projects include a new Animal Studies Centre, a low-carbon home, a bridge over the River Severn, and a historic building combined with new construction for a history centre.
The winners will be celebrated at a regional awards ceremony scheduled for May. Projects successful at this regional stage will then be considered for the national Riba awards, the results of which will be announced in the summer.
