3 Apr
Summary
- A reporter was pinched by a giant crab's pincer during a live broadcast.
- The incident occurred while touring the Sydney Fish Markets.
- This echoes past on-air animal encounters with Today show presenters.
During a live broadcast from the Sydney Fish Markets, a reporter experienced a chaotic encounter with a giant crab. While holding the crustacean for viewers, the crab unexpectedly gripped her finger with its large pincer, causing her to cry out in pain and distress on air.
The segment concluded abruptly as the reporter struggled to free her finger. This incident is not the first time a presenter from the morning show has had a dramatic interaction with an animal live on television. In 2023, a weather presenter was bothered by a parrot, and in 2008, another weatherman was attacked by a rooster, and later bitten by a guinea pig in 2016.
