The Kerala government has appointed acclaimed actor, director, and National Film Award winner Prakash Raj as the chairman of the jury for the Kerala State Film Awards 2024. A total of 128 films have been submitted for the prestigious awards, and the jury screenings are set to commence on October 6.

Raj, who has won five national awards for his work as an actor and producer, has directed four films in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. With over 31 years of experience in the film industry, he received the National Award for Best Actor in 2007 for his performance in the film Kanchivaram and the National Award for Best Producer in 2011 for the Kannada film Puttakkana Highway.
