28 Oct
Summary
- Renée Zellweger to star as a faded actress seeking redemption.
- Plot involves a tech billionaire living in a restored 1923 fantasy.
- Filming is set for spring 2027 in the United Kingdom.
Renée Zellweger, a celebrated two-time Oscar winner, is set to lead "Darlington," a new comedy-drama directed by Sacha Gervasi. Zellweger will portray Kate Spencer, a once-popular actress now forgotten by the industry.
Her character receives an extraordinary offer: to reprise her most famous role. However, this will not be a typical revival. Instead, she must step into the real world of a reclusive tech billionaire, portrayed by Dominic Sessa.
This billionaire has painstakingly restored an English country estate to its former glory. He lives there in a self-imposed isolation, immersing himself in the fantasy that it is still 1923.
As Kate becomes accustomed to this strange and controlled environment, she discovers that the lines between illusion and reality are far more blurred than she initially perceived. The film is scheduled for production in the UK in spring 2027.
"Darlington" also features BAFTA Award nominee Dominic Sessa and Peter Dinklage. Alison Owen, Debra Hayward, and Jim Garavente are producing, with Alexander Payne serving as executive producer.
