Reinaldo Marcus Green, director of 'King Richard' and 'Bob Marley: One Love,' has initiated the Office Hours filmmaker fellowship at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. This program is designed to offer emerging filmmakers vital access, mentorship, and candid career advice. The fellowship will convene its inaugural cohort of five recent graduates and current students for intimate sessions throughout the academic year.
These sessions will cover essential topics such as developing a unique voice, selecting material, collaborating with actors and industry professionals, managing representation, and navigating career setbacks. The selected fellows, Alex Jiang, Maissa Lihedheb, Skyla Page, Andre Shen, and Taylor Sanghyun Lee, were chosen by a distinguished committee.
Green expressed his desire to replicate the crucial support he lacked upon graduating from NYU. He aims to create a space for the next generation to ask questions and gain honest insights into a film career. The program focuses on listening to and challenging the fellows, sharing Green's experiences, and aiding their professional journeys.
