Costars Mckenna Grace and Mason Thames Tease Undeniable Chemistry on Set

In a recent interview, actors Mckenna Grace, 19, and Mason Thames, 18, who star in the upcoming film Regretting You, have revealed some spicy behind-the-scenes details about their on-set chemistry. The two costars admit to improvising "a lot of kisses" during filming, with Thames noting that not all of those improvisations "made it" into the final cut of the movie.

For one particular scene involving a prom-posal, Grace and Thames felt their characters' lovestruck connection warranted a kiss, and they ended up doing it "every take" except for maybe one. "That's the best part," says Grace, laughing. "We're watching the movie. And we did that and it didn't make it!"

The two actors, who were photographed holding hands in June and have posted TikTok videos of them kissing, only hint at the depth of their shared connection in the interview. But they do confirm that their chemistry was "so easy" and that they "clicked immediately" after first meeting in an Uber.

Interestingly, Regretting You is not the only project Grace and Thames have worked on together. They reveal they will also appear in the upcoming comedy New Year's Rev, which premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
