Reba McEntire Mourns Stepson Brandon Blackstock's Tragic Passing

In October 2025, country music icon Reba McEntire is opening up about her cherished relationship with her late stepson, Brandon Blackstock. Blackstock, who was also the ex-husband of singer Kelly Clarkson, passed away in August 2022 at the age of 39 after a courageous 3-year battle with cancer.

McEntire, who was previously married to Brandon's father Narvel Blackstock, describes her stepson as a beloved member of the family. "My relationship with my stepson, Brandon Blackstock, was precious," she says. "I absolutely loved that child." McEntire helped raise Brandon from the age of 4, along with his siblings Shawna and Chassidy.
