Sketch Show 'Read the Room' Returns Bigger Than Ever

The highly anticipated Season 2 of "Read the Room," a sketch comedy series created by Josh Richards, is scheduled to premiere on August 25. This latest season is set to expand on the significant success of its predecessor, which amassed over 63 million views across various platforms within its initial four weeks. The new episodes will be available on the official "Read the Room" channels and Richards' personal social media accounts.

This season introduces a partnership with Fox Creator Studios, marking a new phase for the show produced by CrossCheck Studios. "Read the Room" will feature a notable lineup of guest stars, including former "SNL" cast member Chris Redd, "The Office" alumna Kate Flannery, and reality star Harry Jowsey. The series delves into parodies of pop culture, internet trends, and creator culture, with Richards himself as a central figure given his significant online presence.

Creator Josh Richards expressed excitement for Season 2, noting a more confident and daring approach compared to the first season's live format exploration. He anticipates "sharper sketches" and "killer guests." The collaboration with Fox Creator Studios is primarily focused on the business and media sales aspects, enabling the show to scale commercially, which Richards believes will pave the way for deeper partnerships in future seasons. Chris Sawtelle, co-founder and CEO of CrossCheck Studios, highlighted the partnership as a validation of their vision for developing talent and creating creator-native content.
