According to the latest news, acclaimed actor Ray Romano is joining the cast of Netflix's comedy series "Running Point" for its second season. Romano will be playing the role of coach Norm Stinson, taking over the part that was originally announced for actor Robert Townsend.
The creative team behind "Running Point" has decided to go in a different direction and have recast the role of coach Stinson with Romano. This will mark the actor's second appearance in a Netflix comedy series, as he previously starred in "No Good Deed" which debuted on the platform in 2024.
Romano is best known for his long-running sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," which aired for nine seasons and remains popular to this day. He has also appeared in several films, including "The Irishman" and "The Big Sick." His other recent TV roles include "Made for Love," "Bookie," and "Bupkis."

"Running Point" originally premiered on Netflix in February 2025 and was quickly renewed for a second season. The show follows Isla Gordon, played by Kate Hudson, who is appointed president of the Los Angeles Waves basketball franchise after a scandal forces her brother to resign.
The series is executive produced by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, with Stassen also serving as showrunner. Hudson is also an executive producer in addition to starring in the lead role.
