Cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has voiced his support for the recently released film 'Coolie', challenging the prevalent negative sentiment on social media. Ashwin stated that he disagreed with opinions labeling the film as subpar, highlighting his own positive viewing experience on OTT, which he completed without interruption.
Ashwin further elaborated that while professional reviewers might identify numerous flaws, his personal engagement with 'Coolie' did not reveal significant issues. He also pondered whether the prevailing negative buzz influenced his decision not to see the film during its initial theatrical run.
This defense comes after director Lokesh Kanagaraj addressed the mixed audience reactions, attributing them partly to expectations. Kanagaraj clarified that 'Coolie' was not conceived as a time-travel movie or connected to his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), and that a trailer was deliberately withheld to maintain secrecy.
