The ongoing divorce proceedings between actor Ravi Ravi Mohan and Aarti Ravi, married for 15 years before their 2024 separation, have taken a new turn. Aarti's request for a monthly maintenance payment of ₹40 lakh has been denied by the court.
Her mother, producer Sujatha Vijayakumar, addressed the media in Chennai, clarifying that the maintenance plea was not solely for Aarti but also due to significant debt allegedly caused by Ravi. Sujatha stated that the couple's children, Aarav and Ayaan, face financial difficulties affecting their schooling and basic needs.
Sujatha detailed that Ravi was ordered by the court to pay ₹86 lakh annually for their sons' school fees at American schools, along with ₹3 lakh to Aarti and ₹1 lakh per month to each child. She also refuted claims that Aarti prevented Ravi from seeing their children, asserting Aarti initiated court action for visitation rights.
In response to the public statements, Ravi posted a cryptic message on his Instagram Stories, thanking friends for their support and alluding to actions that constitute contempt of court. He added a firm statement about the four of them never being in the same room while he is alive.
