A new rave thriller titled "Game" is slated for a winter 2027 theatrical release in North America, following its acquisition by Oscilloscope Laboratories. The feature directorial debut of visual artist John Minton, "Game" is backed by Geoff Barrow's Invada Films banner.
The film stars Jason Williamson of Sleaford Mods and Marc Bessant in their leading roles. The narrative plunges into the 1993 British rave scene, following David (Bessant), who becomes stranded in the woods after a car crash and a theft of drugs and money. He is then encountered by a poacher (Williamson) with sinister intentions.
Minton, known for his visual work with artists like Portishead, Beth Gibbons, and Oasis, described the film as a natural evolution of his career into long-form narrative. Producer Deborah Rawlings joins Barrow, who has composed scores for "Civil War" and "Black Mirror." Rob Williams penned the screenplay.
