Deepika Padukone has recently stepped away from two significant film projects, citing the challenging work-hour demands post-motherhood. She has been vocal about the pervasive culture of overwork in the Indian film industry, drawing parallels to how male actors have historically maintained 8-hour workdays without public scrutiny. She believes that burnout is often mistaken for commitment.

Padukone emphasizes that an 8-hour workday is sufficient for an individual's physical and mental well-being, enabling them to perform at their best.
