Summary
- Ranveer Singh initially declined to star in Arjun Reddy's Hindi remake.
- Filmmakers worried about Shahid Kapoor's box office before Kabir Singh.
- Sandeep Reddy Vanga's new film 'Spirit' stars Prabhas and Triptii Dimri.

Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga disclosed that Ranveer Singh was initially considered for the lead in the Hindi remake of his 2017 film 'Arjun Reddy.' Singh ultimately passed on the project, deeming it "too dark" for him at the time. When Shahid Kapoor was approached for 'Kabir Singh,' there were industry concerns regarding his box office performance, as his solo films had not yet crossed the ₹100 crore mark.
Vanga, however, remained confident in Kapoor's acting prowess, despite suggestions that Ranveer Singh might have drawn higher box office numbers. "Kabir Singh," the successful Hindi adaptation, also featured Kiara Advani. Vanga is now gearing up for his next venture, "Spirit," starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, with a projected release in 2026.
The first look of "Spirit" was unveiled on January 1, 2025, echoing the raw energy of Vanga's previous hit, "Animal." The film, penned and directed by Vanga himself, is slated for a multi-lingual release. Triptii Dimri, who previously collaborated with Vanga on "Animal," will star in "Spirit" after Deepika Padukone's exit from the project.
