FWICE Issues Non-Cooperation Order Against Ranveer Singh
26 May
Summary
- Federation issues non-cooperation directive, not a ban on Ranveer Singh.
- Industry members are asked not to work with the actor until the dispute is resolved.
- Artiste exits can cause severe financial losses to film producers, FWICE states.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a directive of non-cooperation against actor Ranveer Singh. This action stems from his departure from Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's project, 'Don 3'. FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit clarified that this is not a ban but a directive asking the federation's 30 crafts to refrain from working with Singh.
Pandit explained that the directive aims to prevent a negative trend where artistes can arbitrarily exit projects. He highlighted the potential for severe financial strain on producers, especially those not as financially robust as Excel Entertainment, who might face ruin due to such abrupt departures. The FWICE's stance comes amid demands for damages related to Singh's exit.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is moving forward with his upcoming mega-budget zombie entertainer, 'Pralay'. The film, set in a post-apocalyptic Mumbai, also marks Singh's debut as a producer under his banner, Maa Kasam Films.
