Actor Upasana Singh has voiced her support for Ranveer Singh amidst the Don 3 controversy, referring to him as a significant contributor to the film industry. Singh, a member of CINTAA, spoke at a press conference where the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announced the immediate withdrawal of its non-cooperation directive against the actor. This resolution was influenced by requests from CINTAA, IMPPA, and the Producers Guild. Singh commended Ranveer Singh for his role in delivering successful films like the Dhurandhar franchise, which she noted achieved remarkable business and created history. She emphasized that such successful movies are crucial for generating employment and income for numerous individuals connected to the entertainment sector. The FWICE president, BN Tiwari, stated that the decision to lift the directive was made after discussions among industry bodies, aiming for a solution where all parties are satisfied. Ashoke Pandit, FWICE chief advisor, clarified that the federation's role is advisory, respecting Ranveer Singh's contributions and advocating for resolution through dialogue. The dispute reportedly stemmed from Ranveer Singh's exit from the Don 3 project after the immense success of his film Dhurandhar. The Dhurandhar franchise has garnered over Rs 3,100 crore worldwide, with the first film grossing Rs 1,307 crore and its sequel surpassing Rs 1,800 crore globally. The franchise follows an undercover operative and features a diverse cast including R Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt. "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" is set to release on JioHotstar on June 4, 2026, with its Raw and Undekha version available, while the first film's version is already streaming.
