On Maha Shivaratri, an innovative 'Bhajan clubbing' programme called the Rangreza Festival drew hundreds of devotees, many of them young people, for an all-night celebration. Held at Food Valley, the event commenced with traditional chants dedicated to Lord Shiva.
As the evening unfolded, two bands performed bhajans, creatively infused with electronic and percussion beats. This fusion created a distinctive atmosphere that was both deeply devotional and energetically vibrant, encouraging attendees to sing and dance along to familiar spiritual songs.
Festival founder Ashish Khare explained that the core concept was to offer a contemporary and engaging format for the younger generation to connect with their faith. The event featured synchronized lighting effects and a diverse range of musical instruments, including drums, guitar, and dholak, enhancing the immersive experience for attendees who had observed fasts.
