After more than fifteen years, the film adaptation of MT Vasudevan Nair's renowned novel, 'Randamoozham,' is slated to begin production this year. MT's daughter, Aswathy V Nair, has confirmed an update is expected by March 2026, with filming commencing in 2024. While details remain under wraps due to a non-disclosure agreement, multiple reports indicate that Rishab Shetty, known for 'Kantara,' may direct and star as Bheeman.
'Randamoozham' offers a unique retelling of the Mahabharata through the eyes of Bheeman. The novel is celebrated for its emotional depth, intricate conflicts, and dramatic twists. Previous attempts at adaptation by directors like Hariharan and VA Shrikumar did not materialize. MT Vasudevan Nair, who also penned the screenplay, viewed this adaptation as a passion project. Initially, Mohanlal was considered for the lead role, with Hariharan directing. The author passed away in 2024.
