Ranbir Kapoor Honors Ram's Original Actor Arun Govil

At a recent event in New Delhi, actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is set to portray Lord Ram, paid a heartfelt tribute to Arun Govil, the actor who immortalized the role in Ramanand Sagar's iconic television series. Kapoor described Govil's portrayal as a source of inspiration, emphasizing the dignity and truth he brought to the character. He expressed hope that his own efforts in the upcoming film would capture even a fraction of Govil's impact.

Interestingly, Arun Govil will also feature in Nitesh Tiwari's cinematic adaptation of Ramayana, but in a new role as King Dasharath, Lord Ram's father. This two-part epic, filmed for IMAX, stars Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with Yash as Ravana. The film is scheduled for a dual release, with Part One arriving for Diwali 2026 and Part Two following in Diwali 2027. The first official trailer is set to premiere on July 24.
