Later this year, a brand new 4K restoration of the 2003 documentary 'End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones' will be made available by Magnolia Pictures. This release marks the first time the film will be available to rent or own digitally.
The year 2026 also marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic punk band's first album. To commemorate this milestone, a special concert will take place on August 30th at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
This event will feature a gathering of artists, including CRETIN FAMILY, Tim Armstrong, Billie Joe Armstrong, Travis Barker, and CJ Ramone, who will perform classic Ramones songs. The documentary itself traces the band's history, from their origins in 1974 New York City to their enduring impact, despite never topping the charts and facing internal conflicts.
'End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones' delves into the band's career, their eventual demise, and the later lives of members Joey and Dee Dee. The film was produced by Rosemary Quigley, Chinagraph NYC, and George Seminara, with EPs Jan Rofekamp, Diana Holtzberg, and Andrew Hurwitz.
