Yash on Playing Ravana: A Different Take

The promotional campaign for Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' has commenced in the US, with key cast and crew attending San Diego Comic-Con. Actor Yash, who is taking on the role of Ravana, spoke about the complexities of portraying such an iconic character. He noted the significant challenge of bringing a new perspective to Ravana, given the numerous memorable interpretations over the years.

Yash explained that the weight of prior portrayals added pressure, but he focused on the character's fundamental drivers. He expressed his intent to offer a distinct portrayal and hopes for positive audience reception. The epic 'Ramayana' is being adapted into a two-part film series, with the first part scheduled for release in November of this year.

The ensemble cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita, alongside a large group of other notable actors. This adaptation of the ancient epic aims to present a fresh narrative of a globally recognized story, which has seen hundreds of previous adaptations in various forms.
