The global trailer launch for the epic film 'Ramayana,' initially scheduled for July 24, has been indefinitely postponed. Producer Namit Malhotra revealed this update minutes before the film's panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, surprising fans. Malhotra announced a new partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, stating, "In light of the above, we will be launching our trailer globally at a later date." This move marks a significant moment for Indian cinema, aiming to present 'Ramayana' as a global Hollywood-caliber film. The postponement occurred amidst heightened global attention on student protests in India, prompting speculation that the tense situation influenced the decision. Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari, and stars Ranbir Kapoor and Yash were scheduled to appear at Ballroom 20 at San Diego Comic-Con for an hour-long panel.
