Ramayana Advance Sales Soar Despite Booking Delays
30 Oct
Summary
- Advance bookings in India have reached Rs 17.14 crore.
- Overseas pre-sales are nearing USD 3 million globally.
- Distribution deadlock delayed domestic booking rollout.
Nitesh Tiwari's mythological epic, 'Ramayana: Part 1,' is experiencing robust advance ticket sales in anticipation of its November 5, 2026 release. Domestic bookings in India have already surpassed Rs 17.14 crore, with around 3.34 lakh tickets sold, despite a delayed rollout. This delay was caused by a distribution deadlock concerning revenue-sharing terms between distributors and exhibitors, which has now reportedly eased.
Internationally, advance sales are nearing USD 3 million, with North America being the largest contributor, accounting for nearly USD 1.9 million. Paid previews in North America on November 4, 2026, are also boosting sales. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, supported by a large ensemble cast.
While Hindi markets currently lead ticket sales, Kannada and Telugu versions are also gaining traction. Tamil and Malayalam ticket sales are expected to increase as the rollout continues. The film's significant budget and cultural relevance are driving strong audience interest both domestically and abroad.
