10 Mar
Summary
- Leaked Ramayana images of Ranbir Kapoor as Rama were fake.
- The viral photos were confirmed to be AI-generated face swaps.
- An actor from a previous Ramayana series exposed the digital alteration.

Recently surfaced images claiming to depict Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Lord Rama and Sita from Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming Ramayana film have been confirmed as fabrications. The circulating pictures, which showed the actors in elaborate costumes, initially generated significant fan excitement and discussion, with many believing they were genuine stills from a wedding sequence.
However, the unusual clarity of the leaked images raised suspicions. Social media users and AI chatbot Grok suggested the visuals were likely edited face-swap images rather than authentic set leaks. This speculation was definitively addressed by television actor Ashish Sharma.
Sharma, who portrayed Lord Rama in the 2015-16 series Siya Ke Ram, shared one of the viral images alongside the original frame from his show. He humorously confirmed the photos were digitally altered, using his likeness. The film Ramayana, slated for a Diwali release, is a major production featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita.
