The teaser for Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' is set to release today, following exclusive screenings in Los Angeles and New York. Actor Ravie Dubey, who is cast as Lakshman, recently revealed a unique aspect of his casting.
Dubey intentionally kept his role in the 'Ramayana' film a secret from his wife, actress Sargun Mehta. The couple maintains a professional boundary, rarely discussing work matters at home. Mehta shared on a podcast that she only learned about Dubey's casting through other people and deliberately avoided asking him directly.
Even during the film's production, Dubey remained discreet about his whereabouts. When Mehta inquired about his destinations, he would simply say he was "going to work." She admitted her curiosity eventually led her to ask the driver about the set, though the driver mistakenly believed she was asking about Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, recently commented on the significance of the character, describing him as a "conscience keeper for billions" and a symbol of "compassion, courage, righteousness, and forgiveness." The film's cast includes Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Dubey as Lakshman. The first part is scheduled for release in Diwali 2026, with the second part following in Diwali 2027.
