Summary
- Bombay High Court granted interim copyright protection to the film.
- The film, with a massive 4,000 crore budget for two parts, faces piracy threats.
- Release date is set for November 5, 2026, with a new court hearing on December 16.

The Bombay High Court has issued an ad-interim injunction to safeguard the forthcoming film, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, from copyright infringement. This legal protection aims to prevent unspecified entities from unauthorized recording, hosting, or streaming of the movie.
The legal action was initiated by Godpower Media Private Limited due to concerns over the potential piracy of the film's script, characters, and footage. The court was informed that the production of the film is exceptionally costly, with Part I alone costing approximately 2,000 crores and the entire two-part project having a combined budget of 4,000 crores.
Despite stringent non-disclosure agreements during private screenings, two trailers have reportedly been leaked and shared online. The court has ordered ISPs and social media intermediaries to dynamically block infringing links and mirror sites upon notification.
Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, is based on the epic Ramayan. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. The film is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026, with the next court hearing set for December 16.
