Manoj Muntashir, the writer behind 'Adipurush', has cautioned against drawing comparisons between his film and Nitesh Tiwari's forthcoming 'Ramayana'. Speaking on Tuesday, Muntashir expressed his best wishes for the 'Ramayana' project, particularly highlighting his admiration for Yash's portrayal of Ravana. He candidly admitted that 'Adipurush' failed to meet audience expectations, despite the significant effort put into its creation and the considerable success of its music.
'Adipurush', which featured Prabhas as Lord Rama and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana, faced substantial criticism for its dialogues and character depictions, ultimately becoming a significant box-office disappointment. In contrast, the trailer for the new 'Ramayana' has introduced Yash as Ravana, with Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Rama. The film's cast also includes Sai Pallavi as Sita and Arun Govil as King Dasharatha. 'Ramayana: Part 1' is anticipated for a Diwali 2026 release, with 'Ramayana: Part 2' expected in Diwali 2027.
