Following Govil's casting, Deo was then offered the role of Sage Vishwamitra. He eagerly accepted this significant character, recognizing its importance and gravitas within the mythological epic. Deo felt this role was ultimately a better fit for his personality.
His casting process included several look tests to finalize his appearance as Vishwamitra. Deo also spoke about the technical challenges of filming, particularly the need to perform with markers for scenes that would later be enhanced with CGI. Adapting to this style of filmmaking proved difficult initially.
'Ramayana' is set to release its first installment in November 2026, with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.
