Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi recently discussed a controversy that arose during the trailer launch of his film, "Dhurandhar 2." A video clip of him greeting co-star Sara Arjun on stage was misinterpreted by some online users, who suggested an inappropriate interaction.
Bedi, who portrays Jameel Jamali in the film, clarified that his actions were purely fatherly. He explained that he often greeted Arjun, who plays his daughter Yalina Jamali, with a hug and a forehead kiss to ensure her comfort on set. He stated that making younger actors feel at ease is part of a senior actor's role.
Despite the online speculation, Bedi noted that many people defended him, recognizing the fatherly nature of his interaction with Arjun. He reflected on how public scrutiny often seeks out matters to discuss, regardless of the situation. The film "Dhurandhar 2" itself has achieved considerable success, reportedly earning over Rs 500 crore within five days of its March 19 release.
