Summary
- Actor Rajpal Yadav paid Rs. 2.5 crore in a Rs. 9 crore cheque bounce case.
- He was sent to judicial custody by the Delhi High Court until Monday.
- The case stems from a 2010 loan for his film 'Ata Pata Laapata'.

Actor Rajpal Yadav has paid ₹2.5 crore as part of the ongoing ₹9 crore cheque bounce case against him. This development occurred a day after the Delhi High Court placed the actor in judicial custody, with his interim bail plea hearing adjourned until Monday.
Yadav is currently serving a six-month jail sentence and surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5. The legal trouble began in 2010 when he borrowed funds for his directorial venture, 'Ata Pata Laapata'. The film's poor performance led to the loan amount escalating significantly over time, resulting in multiple cheque bounce complaints.
The Delhi High Court had previously directed Yadav to deposit ₹1.35 crore in each of the seven pending matters. While a portion of the sum has been disbursed to the complainant, substantial amounts remain unpaid. The court's decision on Monday regarding Yadav's interim bail plea is highly anticipated.
