Rajini & Kamal Reunite: Rs 700 Cr Film Planned!

Two titans of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, are slated for a monumental reunion in director Nelson Dilipkumar's forthcoming film, tentatively named 'KHxRK.' This project has rapidly become a focal point of discussion within Indian cinema even before principal photography commences.

The film is generating significant buzz not only for reuniting two legendary actors after approximately five decades but also for its extraordinarily high budget and unprecedented salary packages. Current reports suggest that the remuneration alone for the lead actors and the director may approach a staggering Rs 500 crore, positioning it among the most expensive productions ever conceived in Tamil cinema.

Kamal Haasan is anticipated to receive around Rs 220 crore through a profit-sharing arrangement, reflecting his extensive involvement in production and distribution strategy. Rajinikanth is reportedly earning between Rs 180 crore and Rs 200 crore, while director Nelson Dilipkumar is said to be charging Rs 70 crore. The core production costs are estimated between Rs 150 crore to Rs 180 crore.

When combined with the star and director's fees, the total budget is projected to surpass Rs 650 crore to Rs 700 crore. This ambitious film, backed by a major production house, is being heralded as the most expensive Tamil film ever planned. The eagerly awaited reunion of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, who last shared the screen generations ago, has fueled massive fan expectations, with many considering it a truly once-in-a-generation cinematic spectacle.

The anticipation surrounding 'KHxRK' continues to escalate across social media platforms. During a recent public appearance, Kamal Haasan shared a lighthearted anecdote about his reunion with Rajinikanth, humorously stating, "We were united long ago, but chose to remain apart because they kept splitting a biscuit and giving us only half each. Now we are content with just half a biscuit." The film will also feature original music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Rajiv Menon. Shooting is scheduled to commence later this year, with fans eagerly awaiting the on-screen chemistry of these two iconic figures.
