Rajeev Khandelwal: My Dream Bhansali Film Never Happened

Actor Rajeev Khandelwal has shed light on a significant unrealized project from his career: a planned film with acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali titled 'Chenab Gandhi'. This film, which generated considerable interest at the time, ultimately remained in the development stage and was shelved.

Khandelwal disclosed that he had entered into a two-film agreement with a prominent commercial director, but 'Chenab Gandhi' was the only film from this deal that did not materialize. He highlighted that his commitment to the project stemmed from reading one of the best scripts he had encountered, indicating his strong creative interest.

The actor, known for his selective career choices, noted that while the film was helmed by a commercial filmmaker and appeared so, the script itself was exceptionally strong. Despite the initial enthusiasm and agreement, the venture never commenced production, leaving it as a notable unfulfilled collaboration in Khandelwal's filmography. His remarks underscore his consistent preference for strong storytelling over mere commercial appeal or scale.
