Summary
- Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai lauds Dhurandhar as a clever spy thriller.
- Rakesh Bedi is highlighted as a surprise scene-stealer in the film.
- The sequel, Dhurandhar - The Revenge, is set for a March 19, 2026 release.

Senior journalist and political commentator Rajdeep Sardesai has shared his positive review of the spy thriller "Dhurandhar." He described the film as "very very clever" and adept at capturing "the mood of the times," praising Aditya Dhar's skillful direction and the film's blend of righteous rage with excessive violence.
While acknowledging the typical macho spy thriller imagery in performances by Ranveer Singh and others, Sardesai singled out Rakesh Bedi as the unexpected scene-stealer for his portrayal of a sleazy Pakistani politician. Despite finding the script lacking the genius of "Sholay," he concluded that "Dhurandhar" is a "paisa vasool" (value for money) experience for audiences who enjoy intense entertainment.
The buzz surrounding the franchise is intensifying with the upcoming release of its sequel, "Dhurandhar - The Revenge." Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, the film continues the story immediately after the 2025 blockbuster's cliffhanger. It will feature Ranveer Singh reprising his role as Hamza Ali Mazari.
The sequel is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical launch on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Eid festivities. It will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The narrative follows Jaskirat Singh Rangi's infiltration into the Karachi underworld after Rehman Dakait's demise, leading to a confrontation with ISI agent Major Iqbal.
