Vorteks has acquired worldwide rights to Michele Fiascaris' psychological thriller, 'Rain Catcher,' starring Dudley O'Shaughnessy in his first leading feature film role. The film, currently in post-production, is an extension of Fiascaris' Silver Méliès-winning short of the same name.
Set in a rainy, nocturnal London, O'Shaughnessy reprises his role as photographer Miles, who anonymously shares unsettling portraits online under the moniker "Rain Catcher." His world fractures when he discovers a mysterious woman photographing him, turning him into the subject of her lens.
Filippo Polesel, co-writer and producer, described 'Rain Catcher' as a British film made by an international team, inspired by and an homage to London. The film is slated for a Cannes sales launch, with Vorteks confident in its global appeal and Fiascaris' unique filmmaking voice.
Joining O'Shaughnessy in the cast are Jessie Mei Li, Iris Law, Kate Dickie, Youssef Kerkour, and Lorenzo Richelmy. Vorteks' Cannes slate also includes other genre films in post-production.
