Raghubir Yadav's Shocking Haircut for Baapji

Veteran actor Raghubir Yadav recently embraced a striking physical transformation for his portrayal of Baapji in the six-episode courtroom crime drama, 'Hunkkaar: The Roar.' Yadav opted to shave his head for the role of a powerful spiritual leader accused of sexual assault, a decision that led to initial self-rejection.

This drastic change, rather than using wigs or prosthetics, was pivotal for Yadav to internalize the character. He described the experience as initially unsettling, stating he almost began to dislike himself. However, this unfamiliar appearance helped him shed his own persona and fully embody Baapji's complex emotions and pain.

The series, created by Karan D Kapadia and Nitya Mehra, centres on a 17-year-old girl's accusation against the influential Baapji. The ensuing legal battle involves police, lawyers, and media, with Fatima Sana Shaikh as the investigating ACP. The ensemble cast includes Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Arjun Mathur.

Beyond the physical aspect, Yadav noted the isolated atmosphere on set further aided his immersion. This environment contrasted with typical sets, making it difficult to step out of character between takes. 'Hunkkaar: The Roar' premiered on JioHotstar on September 25, 2026.
