Rafferty Coope, a 17-year-old from Winchester, is preparing for the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent. He earned a spot in the penultimate round after judge KSI used his golden buzzer on an episode aired in March. Coope's initial performance featured a blend of music and magic, inspired by Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'." He has indicated that a similar style will be presented for his upcoming semi-final performance.
The Peter Symonds College student described reaching this stage as an "incredible moment" and expressed a desire to share it with loved ones. He noted that the support from his college peers has been "amazing." Coope mentioned that the experience has given him an "extra spring in his step," but he remains grounded, feeling fortunate for the audience's engagement.
Performing at London's Hammersmith Apollo is a "dream come true" for Coope, who grew up watching acts on that stage. His past experiences include performing at Winchester's Hat Fair and serving as a chorister at the city's cathedral for five years. If Coope wins the competition, he will receive £250,000 and an invitation to perform at the Royal Variety Performance before King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
